A delightful and easy recipe combining sweet honey, savory soy sauce, and fragrant garlic for tender chicken thighs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 600g boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 120ml honey
  • 80ml soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 60ml ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, and rice vinegar until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in an even layer in the slow cooker, pouring the sauce over the chicken to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 240 to 300 minutes or high for 150 to 180 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  4. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and set aside.
  5. In a separate small bowl, stir the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  6. Add the slurry to the sauce in the slow cooker and stir well. Set to high and cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until thickened.
  7. Shred the chicken with two forks and return it to the thickened sauce, stirring to coat.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

To enhance flavor, use fresh garlic and consider marinating the chicken in the sauce beforehand.
