A comforting smothered chicken dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a rich gravy with sautéed onions and garlic. Perfect for family dinners and cozy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  6. Toss in the chopped onions and minced garlic in the same skillet. Sauté until the onions are soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Pour in the 2 cups of chicken broth gradually, stirring to blend all the flavors together.
  8. Return the browned chicken to the skillet, cover with a lid, and let it simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using smoked paprika or fresh thyme instead of parsley.
