A creamy and savory dish featuring tender chicken smothered in rich gravy with crispy bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place them in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Once done, remove the chicken and set it aside.
  2. Add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms to the same skillet. Sauté until the onions turn translucent and the mushrooms are tender, which should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer to thicken slightly.
  5. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and smother them in the gravy. Cover the skillet and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
  6. Serve the chicken drizzled with gravy, topped with crumbled bacon and freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or use turkey bacon for a leaner option. Don’t skip using fresh parsley as a garnish for added flavor.
