Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g Chicken, boneless and skinless
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil (Optional)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Fresh Ginger, grated (Optional)
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • Sliced Green Onions

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl. Add cornstarch, salt, and black pepper, tossing to coat thoroughly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces in a single layer and fry for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat and add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine.
  5. Allow sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes, thickening slightly.
  6. Mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water and add to the skillet, stirring until sauce becomes glossy and thick.
  7. Return fried chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat in the glaze.
  8. Serve with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.

Notes

For extra crunch, double-coat the chicken in cornstarch before frying. Adjust sweetness with less or more honey based on preference.
