A quick and delicious stir-fried chicken with broccoli recipe that brings vibrant flavors and textures together, perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast, sliced or cubed
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (to coat the chicken)
  • 300 g broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Dust the chicken pieces with cornstarch and toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for about 5-6 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets and 2 tablespoons of water. Cover the wok and steam for about 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the wok, pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey, and stir to combine.
  6. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything nicely.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot over rice.

Notes

For variations, consider adding different vegetables or a splash of citrus juice. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
