A delightful one-pan chicken dish simmered in a buttery, garlic-infused sauce, perfect for busy weeknights and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or olive oil)
  • 4 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup caramelized onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley, for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes and kalamata olives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter (or heat olive oil) in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, cracked black pepper, and paprika. Add to the skillet, searing until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and honey, stirring to combine. Lower the heat and return the chicken to the skillet.
  5. Cover and let everything simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and caramelized onions, allowing it to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. If desired, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, letting it melt before serving.
  8. Garnish with parsley and add an optional drizzle of hot sauce or cayenne for some heat.

Notes

Feel free to swap out the chicken for a plant-based alternative or use olive oil instead of butter for a lighter option.
