A perfectly baked Ultra-Cheesy Chicken Parmesan with juicy chicken, rich marinara sauce, and an irresistible cheesy topping, perfect for weeknight dinners.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Generously season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if desired.
  3. Beat the egg in a shallow bowl, then dip each seasoned chicken breast into the egg. Allow any excess to drip off.
  4. Mix together the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Coat each chicken breast in this mixture, pressing lightly to adhere well.
  5. Heat a bit of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear each chicken breast for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the top, then sprinkle an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is completely cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious creation!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at a low temperature to keep the cheese texture.
