Marry Me Chicken is a creamy, savory chicken dish that promises to impress with its delicious flavors, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, sliced lengthwise into thin cutlets)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon thyme
  • ⅓ cup sun-dried tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Season and dredge: Begin by seasoning the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper. Dredge them in flour and shake off any excess.
  2. Brown the chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chicken cutlets and brown them for 4-5 minutes on each side until they’re fully cooked. Once done, transfer the chicken to a plate to keep warm.
  3. Sauté garlic: In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for about a minute, allowing it to become fragrant.
  4. Deglaze the pan: Pour in the chicken stock and scrape the browned bits from the bottom of the pan to enhance the flavors.
  5. Make the sauce: Lower the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and grated parmesan. Let this simmer for a few minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. Season the sauce: Add the chili flakes, thyme, and oregano. Adjust the taste with salt and pepper, then stir in the chopped sun-dried tomatoes.
  7. Combine: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and allow it to simmer for a few more minutes, ensuring the sauce coats the chicken beautifully.
  8. Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve warm over pasta or rice to soak up that luscious sauce.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding a splash of white wine while deglazing.
